JJ BETA - Languages and Pitch Change for Video

Today we are making a BETA version of Jukebox Jockey available for you to download. It's not a full installer, it's an EXE only. We don't usually release public BETAs and instead tend to keep our beta testing to a small group of users that we have been working with for a long time. This release is a little different though, we have 2 new features that we would really liked your input and feedback on.

The 2 new features are:
1. Language/translation support for converting all the text displayed in JJ to something else. 99% of the time this would be another language, but one of our users wanted to change the text on the "Request List" button, and this feature allows you to do that too. We have recently had a number for enquiries about the ability to translate Jukebox Jockey and while I have been working on this feature in the background for some time, it had never been something we'd been asked about, so it never got a high priority. I will make a blog post about the language stuff soon, but for now Jay has added some information to the Wiki - http://www.jukeboxjockey.com/wikihelp/index.php?title=Languages. It's a little outdated though. Now, when the feature is enabled, there is a config screen (General>Language) that enables you to select a translation file and also export the built in text (ie English) to a new file that you can edit. The files end up in JJ's Plugins\LanguagePacks folder and while the file extension is "dic" they are simply text files and you can edit them in a text editor. Every line in the file represents a different piece of text in JJ's interface. The left side of the equals "=" sign is the name of an element, and should not be changed, but whatever is on the right hand side can be changed to whatever you like. Note that we don't have any translations ourselves, and we are hoping that if you make a translation that you would share that with us, but of course that's completely up to you.

2. Pitch and Tempo control for Video files (for Gold and Platinum users only). This is something that we've wanted to do for a while, but it just never seemed to work out. However I think I've got it pretty right now, so it's time to see what you think

If neither of these featuers mean anything to you, then I guess there's no need to do anything. Just make sure you're using the latest version of Jukebox Jockey that we released 2 months ago to ensure that you've got the latest and greatest. (You can always get the latest release version here - http://www.jukeboxjockey.com/softwaredownloads .

If you want to check out the new BETA then you can grab it from the links below.  These are EXE only updates.  You simply download the zip file and put the EXE file in your current JJ installation directory.  The names are different to those that come with the official installer, so you can run them alongside your existing installation, effectively allowing you to run both the current release and this BETA side by side if you want to keep both installed:
Platinum - here
Gold - here
Home - here

Note that you need to turn on the new features, they are disabled by default. This is done by first running up then new version and then closing it down, to ensure the default settings are written to the settings.ini file. Then make the following changes:

To enable the language translations:

[Settings]
...
LanguageFilesEnabled=1

To enable the Pitch and Tempo control in Video files:
[PlayerSettings]

UseNewBassRenderer=1
