Hi All, I have two licenses for JJ Pro. The one on my Windows7 desk top works perfectly as all my MPG video files play correctly [i.e. video and audio]. However, on my Windows7 laptop roughly 1/3 of my MPG video files play the picture but no audio [yet on the desktop they work perfectly- video and audio] Note: All the MPG files on my laptop play the video no problems it's just that some play the video but not the audio. Therefore JJ is finding the file but why do some of my MPG video files play audio and some don't? I would understand if none worked by only some don't work. I know it's not a volume issue as I'm hearing some videos and not others while not changing any of the JJ settings. Can anyone assist?

All the files work in Windows Media Player, Cyberlink PowerDVD 7,9,10 & 12, RealPlayer, QuickTime etc but only some work in JJ while other do work in JJ. Why the difference between the same file format that is rendered by the same VideoStudio Pro software?

Please ignore those previous posts by "jonydec", they weren't meant to make any sense. He/She was SPAMMING our forum, those posts were only there in order to display their signature which included a link to a web site that they were attempting to promote, completely unrelated to JJ.

It sounds like you have a codec related issue. Jukebox Jockey doesn't really do much of the heaving lifting itself for playing video files, it pretty much just asks Windows to do it for us. However there are some codecs that don't play nice with JJ for some reason. We recommend that you download and install FFDShow Tryouts codec pack, it seems to solve most issues with video playback inside JJ. The reason this works on one system and not another is likely to be a difference in codecs between your PCs. Note that there's a whole world of possiblities in video and audio codecs and just because you are using a specific file format (eg AVI or MPG2) it doesn't necessarily mean that the video and audio codecs used inside that file format are the same.

If that fails we might need to get you to send us a sample video and we'll try to work out what is required to make it work.
